New Year's Eve is a stellar night for a prix fixe dinner, so grab your favorite dining companion and pad your stomachs for a long night filled with champagne. Half of the restaurants around town are offering incredible menus for relatively reasonable prices, while activities for the after-hours abound. Here's a few highly recommended things to do for your last gastronomic moments of 2012.
Biwa's Osechi Feast - Last month, chef Gabe Rosen told us that his favorite part of every year was Biwa's New Year's Eve feast in the Japanese tradition. A $65 price tag promises nine creative courses, with drink pairings extra but highly recommended. Reservations available at 503-239-8830.

Last Dinner at Ping - Closing for renovations on January 1, Andy Ricker's more upscale establishment has a chance to clean out the fridge for an astonishingly reasonable bill. $75 buys you four courses, bubbly, and drinking vinegars for two and the chance to see the old Ping before its facelift. Chocolate Buffet from Pix - Spend the very last minutes of the year gorging your self on Cheryl Wakehouse's incredible pastries. Bar Vivant will sport a chocolate buffet free to anyone with a drink purchase. Fun with Champagne sabering and a Cava fountain are also promised.
