Simply put, Lardo has great sandwiches. To put it less simply; Lardo is at the forefront of Portland's sandwich vanguard. Pork Metball Banh Mi? Yes please. Cold Fried Chicken on a brioche bun? Sign us up. This one time food cart has gone brick in mortar with a classy atmosphere, a great patio, and not only sandwiches, but great cocktails and a might fine beer list. Lardo proves the point that sandwiches are not necessarily just for lunch anymore.
Eventhough it sounds like a schoolyard taunt, Lardo's name comes from the Italian for the cured back fat of a pig. Said lardo is what this cart fries their potatoes in so be warned vegetarian. Everyone else: a small handful of sandwiches made from locally sourced meats (primarily pork) is what's on the menu, so belly up!
