With VP Daughter and Comedy Writer Kristen Gore!

Mercury writer Chelsea Cain sat down with babe-and-a-half Kristin Gore (a 23-year-old comedy writer for the animated series Futurama, as well as Al Gore's girl-child) for an intimate chat about her life, her dreams, and her papa.

Childhood breakfast staple: Slightly burnt, over-buttered bagels.

Subject of childhood debates with dad: Curfew.

Number of times you won the debate: 0.

Family's favorite show (after Futurama): The Simpsons

Time your parents could have lost it, but didn't: I called them up and said, "Mom, Dad, I've decided not to go to law school. Instead I'm going to move to LA to try to be a comedy writer." They said, "OK Honey, that's great."

Dad's favorite quote: "You must be the change you want to see in the world."--Gandhi.

Who cares about the geezers--What about our generation? We are about to elect a president who will appoint 3-4 judges on the Supreme Court. Plus a ton of federal judges and the attorney general. These are people who will affect our lives for the next 30 or 40 years. They will express what our values are. Do we want a culture that promotes freedom of choice, civil rights, equal rights, the environment; that addresses hate crimes? These are at risk. That affects our generation.

Do you watch The West Wing? I've never seen it, but all my friends think it's great. I work the night it's on.

Uh, do you have a VCR? I know, I know. I'll tape it. I promise.

You better. I will, I will.
