Originally staged in 1633, 'Tis Pity She's a Whore has gone under many titles due to its raciness; it was the inspiration for Peter Greenaway's sensational, controversial film The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover. Compass Repertory Theatre presents this production, with the stage set in mid-20th century Italy. Opening night is Friday, May 6. Tickets are $10 on Thursdays.

Price: $10-20
